The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is a four subject, computer based test where speed and accuracy decide your admission. This guide covers subject combinations by course, how the CBT is scored, and the practice rhythm that moves candidates from the 200s into the 300s.

Understand the exam
Your three electives must match the JAMB brochure requirement for your course. Medicine needs Biology, Chemistry and Physics; Law needs Literature, Government and CRS or IRS; Engineering needs Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Use of English carries 60 questions, more than any other subject. Comprehension, lexis and structure, and the recommended novel are predictable, so consistent daily practice adds 20 to 40 marks on its own.
Practise on a computer, not on paper. Learn to flag and revisit questions, watch the timer, and avoid getting stuck: one hard question is worth the same as an easy one.
